Expanded cork is a freshly harvested grinded cork bark that is pressed at high temperature. This process expands cork granules while their natural resin releases and binds the granules together. The result is a super lightweight construction filled with air in blackish brown colour (due to the superheated steam in the process) with amazing water resistance and great thermal insulation performance.
